The Florida citrus processing industry continues to grow in complexity as it serves broader markets, handles an increasing volume of fruit at higher wage and product values, to ever stricter specifications. The trend is toward a blended finished product and away from packaging fruit as it reaches the plant; indeed, packaging is becoming to lose its “seasonal” characteristics so far as packaging and marketing is concerned.
