This paper, composed of two parts, deals with the installation and operation of peaking and emergency generating facilities for the Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. system. The first part covers fourteen 16-Mw packaged type combustion turbine generators which are installed in two groups of four units and three groups of two units. The second part covers the repowering of an existing 35-Mw hydrogen-cooled generator with three jet engines.
