abstract

A 15-Mw gas turbine unit, using residual oil, commenced service operation on October 1965. By the end of June 1967, this plant accumulated a total servicing operation of 12,081 hr at almost maximum rating and performed 99.6 percent of reliability factor. In order to observe the tendency of corrosion and contamination due to fuel ashes, inspections of hot parts were carried out at every 3 to 4 months. The experiences during this service operation are reported in this paper.
