abstract

This paper outlines the design basis of a key gas compressor station of the IGAT system in Iran. The factors affecting the selection of the prime mover and compressor are presented, and the control philosophy for their operation is discussed. The effect on compressor station operation during upset conditions at an adjacent gas treatment plant, and vice versa, are also considered.
