abstract

This paper mentions plants which have shown fundamental similarity of air and helium closed cycles. Existing air cycles have a proven economic performance record as total energy plants. They provide a basis for the development of the closed cycle gas turbine towards helium cycles of larger outputs. Plants of 50, 100, 500, to 1000 MW will make use of atomic energy in a direct cycle.
