This paper describes Sulzer’s new Type 3 gas turbine. This machine is designed for quantity production in single- and split-shaft versions with ratings from 5350 to 6200 kw. The basic arrangement of the unit as a whole and of the machine package are presented, based on the requirements of the general specification. Design and construction of the machine are then described. The paper ends with a section on auxiliary systems and possible plant layouts.
