A new medium size gas turbine in the 45 MW range (Type 8) has been designed, manufactured and tested. Although the components that have proven to be successful over years of practical experience were kept, definite improvements with respect to the thermodynamic process have been achieved.

All new components were designed with the help of the latest analytical equipment. Major components were tested separately and on models built to scale.

To test the entire machine, a power plant equipped with extensive measuring instrumentation was built. The test results agree widely with the design values.
