abstract

Part III of this three-part paper examines steam ReGenerated Heat (RGH) (the residual steam sensible heat in the exhaust) for full (100%) steam-injected cycles. Parts I and II deal with Steam Rates and Steam-Cycle Efficiency respectively for a finite amount of steam injection. The following RGH analysis is based on the same approach used for large-utility steam turbines where one pound of throttle steam is passed through the steam system, and where enthalpy points are determined along the steam path. Accurate analysis of heat input, partial pressure expansion and heat-rejection enthalpy points are computed with steam-table software.
