abstract

This research describes the motivations and technical approach for the development of a collaborative environment of a coal-fired power plant operation. The system was developed using Unity 3D to interact with power plant models and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation results. The system was developed for multiple remote users to interact using the Oculus Rift and Razer Hydra for 3D display, and hand tracking. Discussion of the power plant simulation and features of the interactive system are described.
