abstract

For the achievement of an efficient powertrain design of a hybrid electric off-road vehicle, various designs and configurations of the gearboxes were evaluated under an optimal design viewpoint. Due to off-road requirements, it is not possible to use a single fixed gearbox. Design solutions are evaluated according to specific requirements and constraints associated to the design scenario, considering hilly terrain operation of the desired vehicle. In this work the design process and design solutions of the gearboxes in powertrain are presented.
