abstract

This paper reports the results of an experimental investigation on the transport of model fluids, composed of water and polypropylene particles, that have characteristics close to those of ice slurries used as coolant. The measurement of the pressure drop and of the delivered concentration, for a wide combination of flow rates and solid loads, enabled us to determine an efficiency in the transport of particles, and then to calculate the conditions of the energetic optimum for the transportation of these model fluids.
