abstract

Trends are presented to assist in choosing the optimum oil and gas production system for moderate water depths (less than 500m). Databases of fixed, floating and subsea facilities employed in the North Sea are utilised to outline the distinguishing features between these systems and to demonstrate the key drivers for their selection in different circumstances. These drivers include water depth, well count, oil and gas production rates and tieback lengths.
