Vibrational Effects of the Turbogenerator Bearing Misalignment Defect Represented in the Defect Maps

abstract

The paper presents results of computer simulation of the bearing misalignment defect in a power turbogenerator and specific methodology applied for presentation of the misalignment effects. Necessary calculations were carried out by means of a set of computer codes composing the system MESWIR, which was developed in the IFFM in Gdansk. For this purpose the turbogenerator final elements numerical model was created and the machine’s response to the simulated defect was calculated. The results are presented in the form of graphs showing the bearing vibration parameters as a function of bearing misalignment. The essence of the presented work is a methodology consisting in presentation of diagnostic relations in the form of “defect maps”. The maps allow to map the machine’s technical state in certain domain of events represented by defects. In this case the “domain of events” is the area of possible bearing dislocations and the “technical state” may be expressed by e.g. vibrations of the machine elements. The result of this work is the complete set of maps, which present distribution of bearing vibration as functions of individual bearing displacements. Within this work various types of bearing misalignment maps were constructed, intended for different applications in the turbogenerator diagnostic system.
