This paper will present the Synthesis of analyses undertaken in a project of the European Commission EC/DG Environment within the framework of its Codes and Standards activities, entitled: “Evaluation of Fracture Toughness and Fatigue Crack Growth for Transition Welds at Non-Creep Temperatures”. The project deals with two distinct technical parts: Part 1: dealing with collection and review of the Fracture Toughness and Fatigue Crack Growth data on the materials constituting the Transition Welds, Part 2: dealing with Benchmark Calculations on a typical Transition Weld chosen from a real PWR plant. This paper deals with part 2 only and presents the synthesis of the combined effort of a number of participants from different countries who worked on a common problem specification of analysis. The participants were from AEA Technology, Belgatom, EDF, Framatome, Minatom, Siemens and Technatom. The report presents a comprehensive summary of work from each organisation, the key points and recommendations.
