abstract

Flexible PCB of cellular phone constructed of flexible Copper Clad Laminate (FCCL) covered with cover-layer is opened electrically under repeated bending due to formation and propagation of fatigue crack in copper. The life of rigid-flexible PCB is estimated using the finite element method and fatigue analysis considering contact condition of assembly process of the rigid-flexible PCB, opening and closing the phone. And rigid-flexible PCB bending endurance tester is designed to test bending reliability without cellular phone. Using rigid-flexible PCB bending endurance tester, bending reliability quality of rigid-flexible PCB can be guaranteed faster than before.
